Awhile back, Candy and I went to go see a screening for a film called “Call + Response” at the Jimmy Carter Center.  We were in a room with about 75 people and everyone in the room had their eyes opened that night.

I found out that there are over 27 MILLION slaves in the world TODAY!!  The film shows the plight of modern day slaves, child soldiers in Africa, sex workers in the States, and more.

You also get musical performances from Cold War Kids, Rocco DeLucca, Imogen Heap, Natasha Bedingfield, Matisyahu, Emannuel Jal (my fav….) and many many more.  I was also introduced to a Dr. Cornel West - who was my favorite in the film.  Anyways - its playing here in ATL, I I would highly reccomend it.

ALL proceeds of the film go to charity. It’s showing at Midtown Cinemas and Le Font Theaters Oct. 9 - 16.
